First shown in London, the Museum of Transology exhibition runs until June 2018 at Brighton Museum & Art Gallery, 12A Pavilion Parade, Brighton, UK.

The display challenges the idea that gender is fixed, binary and biologically determined by exploring how the objects in a persons life reflects their gender journey. The exhibition provides a space for voices generally excluded from the mainstream. It is also a space that incorporates intersectional identities which is very valuable and affirmative for marginalised people.

The objects in the exhibition were donated by different people and there is a high degree of diversity in their experiences which makes the exhibition a very special experience – the people who contributed to the exhibition have opened a part of themselves and their experiences, sharing them with others. This is currently the largest collection from trans people in the UK. For more information see the Museum of Transology blog.
