Stonewall will be running another BAME/POC LGBTQ+ role models programme this November. The programme gives people the opportunity to reflect on their identity, what they can do to promote inclusion for themselves and others, and why it is important to have visible BAME/POC LGBTQ+ role models in workplaces, communities and other parts of society.
Anyone can be a role model – you just need to take a first step. People value role models across age groups, abilities and vocations. It is necessary to see yourself reflected in others so you feel part of communities and feel valued as an individual – this is especially the case for marginalised communities with very few visible role models. The programme also gives you the opportunity to meet others to share experiences.
If you want to know more about the programme before applying, contact Olivia King (pictured, left) through this website. Olivia has been on the programme and will be able to provide you with information.
Otherwise, apply on Stonewall website by Monday 5th November: https://stonewall.typeform.com/to/MEkvHj
