Award winning department staffed by Barbara (Babs) Harris (Head of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion), Simon Anjoyeb (Equality Project Manager) and Olivia King (Equality and Inclusion Advisor). The Department of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion at Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals (BSUH) NHS Trust undertakes guidance, training and research for carers, community stakeholders, patients, staff and visitors in all aspects of human rights in the hospital.

We cover age, disability, sexual orientation, marriage and pregnancy, gender identity, gender, race (including nationality, ethnicity and national origins), religion or belief, marriage and civil partnership. Specialist areas include accessibility, trans awareness training, transitioning in the workplace, sexual orientation training, language and translation support and inclusion best practice.

We are knowledgeable about all aspects of equality and human rights legislation in the UK and can advise departments on  incorporating processes and developing initiatives to ensure that duties are being met throughout an organisation.
